Why Wed?

Why do celebrities get married? Seriously what for?

I certainly understand the desire to share your house and home with someone and enjoy a life-long commitment - but that's for real people. Don't celebrities know that there is essentially no shot of living happily ever after with another famous person?

There are lots of former examples of we-knew-it-couldn't-last-hood.
JLo and Chris Judd
Renee and Kenny Chesney
Britney and whoever
Drew Barrymore and whoever

There are a few who tricked us for a while and made us think it could work:
Jen and Brad
I was pulling for Nick and Jess, but alas...
Ethan and Uma
Reese and Ryan

Then there are the newest examples of no-shot-in-hell-ship.
Pam and Rick of course

So, sad to say but I'm on watch for the following couples. Let me caveat by saying I'm not wishing the demise of any of these couplings. I'm mearly stating that based on the law of averages, these guys should think about a post-nup agreement.

-JLo and Mark Anthony
-Ben and Jen
-Tom and Katie
-Tori and Dean - sorry EK
-Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley
-Christina and that Jewish guys she's married to - now he's not really a celeb, so they may last longer than most - but still no shot.
-Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell
-Eva Longoria and Tony Parker
-Pink and Carey Hart
-Star Jones and her Gay husband
-Brad and Angie aren't married but there's no way they are going to last

Finally there are a few I really am pulling for, a few couples who I want to see make it, but am doubtful. Be on the lookout.
-SJP and Mathew Broderick
-Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rosdale

Oh and of course, none of this applies to Ette2. Though she is a celebrity in our minds, she's really a nobody in Hollywood, so she's destined for a long, happy, loving and joyous marriage. :)

Word in Hollywood is that Ette2 is marrying a really handsome and successful guy who worships the ground she walks on.
